Pickering Swim Club - Reader's Choice Award Winners

We did it - Congratulations!

Pickering Swim Club is a winner in the Ajax-Pickering News Advertiser 2013 Readers Choice Awards.

We have been awarded the Diamond (1st Place) Award in the category of Swimming Instruction!

Thanks to everyone who supported and voted for us, letting everyone know what a great club we are!!

Lake Swim for Charity

The Tied Together Swim was a great success, and the swimmers from our club were a big part of it! Mike Zavitz swam 24km from Dwight to Baysville, to raise awareness for organ donation, as well as over $11,000 for Camp Dorset.  Emily Mayer, Jacob Dosen, Jamie Baylon, Nady Tanir and Sam Catania stuck with Mike for his entire 11 hour swim. Mike suffered from severe cramps and a collapsed lung during the race, but his team kept him going. After the race, Mike thanked our swimmers publically, saying “I couldn’t have done it without my pacers, just knowing they were in the water with me, and seeing their smiling faces kept me going. Sometimes a smile can save a life”

I would like to thank the Pickering Swim Club community for their time and effort and especially for all the support you showed the Tied Together Swim.
