Congratulations to our November 2018 Swimmers of the Month!
The Swimmer of the Month award goes to one swimmer in each group who consistently tries their best and works hard in all that they do. They must have excellent attendance, at practice and at swim meets, so they can demonstrate their improvements during a training and competition setting. And above all, they need to have a positive attitude and be a good role model to their teammates. The Swimmer of the Month must exemplify discipline, dedication, and respect, among other values, that we try to promote to our young athletes with the Pickering Swim Club.
Jesus Baylon is Swimmer of the Month for the Gold group. Jesus has been busy training hard and we see that result in his drop in times. Great attendance also shows his commitment to his personal improvement.
Ean Carta is Swimmer of the Month for the Silver group. Ean had a great meet in Barrie and is learning to conquer the 200 fly. Keep the fighting the battle Ean!
Paige Macfarlane is Bronze’s Swimmer of the Month. Since Paige moved up to Bronze in September she has been working tirelessly towards her goals! She continues to drop significant amounts of time whenever she gets up to race. Paige is also a strong leader and positive presence at practice! Way to go Paige!
Marshall Munroe is Blue’s Swimmer of the Month. Marshall has been working very hard on his technique this season so far and the results are showing. He has been taking off a tremendous amount of time this season and has even taken off 50 seconds in his 100 fly! Marshall’s attendence is one of the best in the group. Great job so far Marshall and keep up the great work.
- Nicolas Gunter is Swimmer of the Month for the Red group. Since the beginning of the season, Nicholas has come to each and every practice with the intent to work hard and follow my instructions on stroke correction. His work ethic has shown results in his last few meets with time off and awesome improvement in his stroke technique.
Zak Hersi is Swimmer of the Month for the White group. Zak has been very diligent in his practices by working on his technique and becoming more responsible in regards to knowing his times at practices. He is even known for demonstrating his techniques to the group which is awesome. Zak in practice is always smiling even on hard sets. Keep up the great work Zak and those seconds will drop at swim meets.
Filippa Foutsis is Swimmer of the Month for Dev B! Filippa consistently makes corrections to her strokes and focuses on the drills we train at practice. As a result, her breaststroke kick is beautiful and her timing is perfect! On another note, her dives look amazing as she remembers to tuck her chin and explode off the start! Keep up the great work, Filippa!
Leilani Freitas is Swimmer of the Month for Dev A! A new swimmer this season, Leilani was able to complete 10 x 50 freestyle on 1:20, going on the fastest pace time in the Dev A group! Way to go girl! Hard work and a positive attitude will get you far!
